This is the blog for my novel Mousebite. Set in Mumbai of 2012, it is a crime thriller.

In the November of 2012, Inspector Pandurang Jagtap has a lot on his hands. His job with the economic offenses wing of the Mumbai police has been put on ice. A transfer out of his beloved Mumbai is a distinct possibility. To relieve regular cops of mundane work, he is handed an innocuous looking murder investigation that begins from a footpath, leads to the business premises of an erstwhile gangster & puts him on a collision course with the NIA.

Pandurang’s dogged pursuit of the case does not waver even when he is officially transferred to a different case involving the suicide of a notorious RTI activist. A budding romance with Bhavna whom he meets during the investigation is soon under stress as the new case puts him in the vortex of political connections, international trade & surveillance on everybody related to him.

 In the meantime, Mumbai is on a high alert for an imminent terrorist attack that promises to make a severe impact beyond the likely deaths in the attack. With the hanging of Kasab, the attack could precipitate anytime. Pandurang has to traverse the breadth of Maharashtra as the leads in the case are found. What if the terrorist attack is related to his cases? Caught in the three-way standoff with the NIA, the gangster with a past & the establishment, will Pandurang find what links the cases to terrorism? Can he make it in time to stop the cruelest terrorist attack ever planned against India?
